**The Opportunity**
As a Legal Advisor within the Department’s in-house legal team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality legal services that support the Department’s operations and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you will work within the Legal Services section of the Legal, Commercial and Assurance Services Directorate.

You will provide legal support across a range of matters, with a focus on commercial, administrative and property law. Your responsibilities will include legal research, analysis, and the preparation of legal documents and advice, including on complex matters as required. You will work under the supervision and guidance of senior lawyers and collaborate closely with solicitors from the Crown Solicitor’s Office, including those out-posted to the Department.

**About You**
You are a detail-oriented and proactive legal professional with a strong foundation in legal research, analysis and advisory work.

We are looking for applicants with:

- a minimum of one year of Post Admission experience;
- some experience in real property law desirable;
- an interest in developing expertise in areas of real property law, commercial law, administrative law and government regulation;
- outstanding communication and interpersonal (verbal and written) skills who can work effectively within a team and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders;
- excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and accurate legal advice;
- experience in drafting legal documents with a strong focus on attention to detail, even when working under pressure to meet deadlines; and
- a commitment to professionalism and integrity in legal service delivery.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- A degree in Law.
- Admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia or eligible to be so admitted.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Practising Certificate in the State of South Australia

**Special Conditions**
- A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
- The Department recognises the role as both a legal practitioner and an officer of the Supreme Court of South Australia. While the Legal Advisor is an employee of the Department and will abide by all lawful and reasonable instructions, the Department acknowledges the independence of the role as a legal practitioner in giving legal advice and will not seek to give instructions as to the content of that advice.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
