We are a complete turn key power generation company from Maintenance jobs small and large, through to large generator set installations and rental solutions.

This role would suit a mechanic, auto electrician or electrician who is looking for a change. We specialise in diesel generators with most of the works being scheduled and reactive preventive maintenance works. These are standby units which presents a uniquely clean environment in the mechanical industry.

We work 40hr weeks 7:00am-3:30pm with an RDO each month. The starting package is $35/hr with the supply of a car, laptop, and phone (or phone allowance). There is room for additional hourly rate based upon experience and we are also open to salary option, based on the fact that we do work overtime and some weekend works and this would see you with a stable weekly income with this type of work schedule in mind.

The role would see you on call once every ** weeks and we also pay a weekly fee for this when on call. If you get called out you also get 4 hours at double time, even if it’s a 1 hour fix.

**The Role**:
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a permanent full time new role, Mobile Generator Service Technician; critical to delivering peace of mind and reliability to our clients. Our head office is in Burnside QLD with the role being mobile working from the Gold Coast to Rockhampton. The role includes vehicle for work use, as you will carry out 90% of works on site. You are supported by our operations manager and service scheduler plus stores person for parts allocation to jobs. The role is preventative maintenance to diesel generator sets, minor and major services, fault finding, building load tests (where no electrical work is required), pre delivery of new gen sets etc.

**What you would do**:
This role is different to many mechanical positions. Our business carries out maintenance, installation and rental of generator sets for many critical clients such as health, data, broadcast and commercial. We are in the business of reliability, dependability and peace of mind and therefore we require a new team member whom will work to a very high standard in a technical and professional aspect to deliver on our promise to our clients.

Tasks Including but not limited to;
- Carry out on site major and minor routine serving to high quality standard to ISO9001 and ISO14001
- Travel away and to remote locations with some over time/travel required.
- Carry out maintenance on Power Generation equipment and other associated plant
- Work safe
- Liaise with customers when requested by management.
- Carry out technical DC voltage (**Vdc) electrical works and control system upgrade (predominantly DSE and ComAp). Experience in this area is of particular interest but not mandatory.
- Undertake all works in accordance to Quality Assurance system ISO9001 and offer feedback on the systems.
- Perform all aspects of work that are included in business of City Generators. This will include works out side of the base trade of being a Diesel fitter/mechanic. These tasks include but are not limited to; Generator servicing, sound attenuation, exhaust works inc heat lagging, painting cleaning of gen sets and associated equipment etc.
- Parts ordering when requested by management.
- On call 24/7 for as per the on call register (1 week on call ever month)
- All after hour’s phone call answered/responded to within 20 minutes.
- Ensure all workshop facilities are maintained in a safe, neat, clean and tidy condition and work with other staff and management to ensure this outcome.
- Ensure vehicle is clean, tidy, maintained and stocked with correct parts
- Maintain the workshop/warehouse and vehicle clean and tidy at all times
- Promote a clean and tidy appearance and always promote City Generators in a positive and professional manor.
- To be ready and willing to travel away from home to work, sometimes for long periods of time and often with very short notice of leaving.
- Receive and unload of containers for new generator sets
- Pre deliver of new generator sets (oil and coolant etc)
- Maintaining hire fleet (in and out forms completed, general servicing and trailer maintenance)

**You must be able to demonstrate you have**:

- Mechanical, automotive or electrical trade is mandatory
- Previous experience with generators sets is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills and confidence - this role will sometimes require you to be undertaking multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
- Exceptional relationship building skills; you will be liaising with your team and customers on site on a daily basis.
