We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated & experienced Coordinator/Nominated Supervisor to help us deliver exceptional leadership and service to our educators, students and families for a privately owned 45 space OSHC service situated in the Dee Why area of Sydney Northern Beaches for a start date of 1st September. Must be local to Sydney Northern Beaches with own vehicle or transport.
This is a role for someone with a supportive leadership style who can work with a team. If you have a high level of care, enjoy building positive relationships with children, families, and educators, and can work to create engaging programs while balancing compliance needs - this is the position for you
**Specific Responsibilities**
**Children**
- Promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people by adopting and adhering to the National Principles of Child Safe Organisations or relevant Child Safe Standards
- Maintain and demonstrate an extensive knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour and language
- Communicate with children in an open, honest manner and ensure that the child’s perspective is regarded as unique and special
- Ensure children are respected and their rights are being met (United National Convention on the Rights of the Child
- CRC)
**Parents and families**
- To treat all parents and families with respect regardless of age, sex, race, religion, culture, language, background or disability
- To be courteous and helpful to the parents and families in the service, and ensure all educators and staff are implementing these practices
- Ensure families undertake an Orientation to the Service as part of the enrolment process
- To communicate positively with parents rand families regarding their children
- Promote clear communication between the management team and educators, staff and families
**Staff/Leadership**
- Lead, guide and mentor educators and staff to create a safe, supportive, stimulating and educational environment for all children and families
- Ensure all educators and staff are aware of and respond positively and consistently to children’s additional needs including adjustments and requirements; diet and allergies; developmental needs etc
- Facilitate the induction process of new educators and staff within the organisation in line with the _Induction and Orientation Policy_ and procedures
- Help others to understand their obligations to comply with legislation, rules, policies and procedures relating to the operation of the service
- Ensure staff meetings, family meetings and management meetings are planned and held as required and be willing to attend, if required
**Community**
- To be aware of local services and resources
- To be aware of the combination of different social groups and their needs in your community
- To maintain positive public relations with local school, groups and authorities
**Buildings and Equipment**
- To keep the centre (including toilet area) clean and tidy
- To report equipment that requires repairs or replacement
- To be part of the day to day housekeeping routines that is necessary for the maintenance of the centre in good repair
**Professional Development**
- To be willing to attend in-service workshops and conferences as appropriate
- To participate in staff appraisals and accept directions for future improvement
**Skills and experience**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Nominated Supervisor position in an Out of School Hours Care/Vacation Care Service or minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership position in an Out of School Hours Care service
- Proven ability in all areas of administrative procedure, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training, team leadership and management of staff
- Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
- Demonstrated knowledge of the My Time Our Place Framework, Education and Care Services National Law (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), Family Assistance Law (Child Care Subsidy 2018)
- Previous experience in successfully managing a budget for an early education and care service
- Drivers license and vehicle or access to transport
- Current First Aid Qualification (HLTAID012)
- Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Current CPR training
- Current Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025)
- Hold a current Working with Children Check
**Salary and Benefits**
- $80K - $85K per annum based on experience and industry standards, 38hours per week, Monday to Friday, 51wks per annum.
