**About the role**

An opportunity has become available for Security Officers to join The Perth Mint on a Permanent / Part time basis. These roles will be responsible for a variety of security tasks at both our primary locations being East Perth and the Refinery at Perth Airport (free parking).

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- Control room monitoring of security and industrial alarm systems
- Access control
- Metal detector checks of personnel
- X-ray scanning
- General gatehouse duties
- Provide access for authorised personnel to and from the secured areas
- Carry out internal and external patrols
- Report any faults and incidents
- Ensure Occupational Safety & Health guidelines are adhered to
- Administer first aid when required
- Other duties within your competence skill and training, as required
- Customer service, Contractor, and Visitor management
- CCTV operations, Intruder detection & Access control systems
- Operation of fire panel and isolation / de-isolation of fire detectors / zones

**Required Skills & Experience**
- Certificate II in Security Operations and Crowd Control
- Senior First Aid Certificate / Advanced Resuscitation from an accredited institution
- High level of confidentiality and discretion, with the ability to always act in a trustworthy and ethical manner
- Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work under minimum supervision and as an effective team member
- Sound computer literacy skills
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (both oral and written)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to use initiative and good judgement
