About Us

The Fleet team within Facilities Management Services manages the department's leased fleet vehicles, currently totalling 758 vehicles satewide. Responsibilities for the team include ensuring a right-sized fleet with suitable number of vehicles allocated to appropriate locations, overseeing the leasing of vehicles, monitoring utilisation rates, management of fleet related accounts for fuel and tolls, and much more. There are also a number of fleet-related projects underway including the centralisation of the department's fleet, the rollout of electric vehicles and associated charging infrastructure, and the implementation of an in-vehicle monitoring and booking system.

Your Role

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Managing the delivery of fleet management services across a range of departmental fleet related activities including department-wide fleet pools, lease and fuel accounts, fleet acquisitions, disposals, and insurance.
Ensuring the effective implementation of fleet management related policies and procedures, including reviewing and updating these policies and procedures as necessary.
Providing authoritative advice on all aspects of fleet operations including vehicle lease management, parking and pooling and fleet management procedures to a broad cross section of customers.
Overseeing or contributing towards various fleet management projects including the implementation of an in-vehicle monitoring and booking system for all departmental fleet cars, and implementation of Queensland's Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy.
Managing stakeholder relationships, budget and reporting requirements relevant to departmental fleet.

Strong communication, consultation and negotiation skills to establish and maintain productive partnerships with customers, team members and other stakeholders.
Someone with a passionate and enthusiastic demeanour, who is driven and motivated to achieve optimal customer service outcomes.
Ability to inspire, lead and develop members of the team to help them realise their full potential.
Ability to work independently, prioritise, and remain composed during high-stakes situations, taking responsibility to ensure sensitive situations are resolved within a timely manner.

The following attributes are advantageous but not mandatory (you will learn on the job):
Knowledge and understanding of general fleet management services.
Knowledge and understanding of financial and budgeting processes.
