Brentwood Park Kindergarten is a committee managed kindergarten with a focus on parent involvement and community participation. Educators facilitate play-based learning opportunities that reflect children’s interests and developmental needs. Brentwood Park Kindergarten is set in a natural bush environment, enhancing the learning opportunities and children’s sense of identity and connection to their world. Brentwood Park Kindergarten is committed to providing a safe environment for all children which ensures their safety, health and wellbeing.
**Hours of Work of the Role**
8 hours based at kinder, spread over 2 or more days across the week, plus reasonable overtime
**Description**
We have a very exciting leadership position opening at Brentwood Park Kindergarten. This position will work in collaboration with the Committee President, Administration Officer and Educational Leader to lead, support and manage the operations of the service. The role is suited to someone with experience in leadership and knowledge of Early Childhood Education, kinder operations and governance.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Committee President, Administrations Officer and Educational Leader with administrative and management duties, including managing staff leave.
- Providing leadership and support to staff, including supporting staff Performance and Development Plans and facilitating performance reviews.
- Preparing any future job advertisements, assessing with interviews, preparing staff contracts and assisting with induction/on-boarding.
- Keeping abreast of current legislation and practice guidelines of government not-for-profit kindergartens and ensuring the kindergarten’s policies and procedures are compliant.
- Revising, updating and filing the service’s policies and procedures as well as communicating any policy/procedure updates with staff.
- Overseeing preparation of government reporting and ensuring compliance, accuracy of data and meeting deadlines.
- Communicating important operational information to families, including Covid Safe procedures.
- Be part of the development and implementation of QIP and other strategic planning.
- Manage enrollment enquiries and procedures, including managing incoming and outgoing enrollments and maintaining the KIM and EnrolNow Systems.
- Ensure the service is operating in accordance with OH&S requirements.
- Liaise with external stakeholders.
- Provide a warm and welcoming reception to all staff, visitors and children.
- Updating the kinder website as needed.
- Other duties as decided by Committee.
We are seeking someone who:
- Has strong leadership skills with a strength based approach.
- Is organised, efficient and can multitask and is able to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
- Establishes a strong rapport with staff, committee and families.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Has extensive knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Victorian Child Safe Standards.
- Is friendly, energetic and passionate.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor Qualification in Education, Human Resources, or other relevant area.
**Requirements**:
VIT Registration
**Additional Requirements**
Experience in a leadership position. Access to personal laptop or computer. Current VIT registration, WWC Check, Police Check and mandatory reporting certificate. Working knowledge of National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and compliance requirements. Understanding of DE funding requirements and legislative/regulatory requirements.
