Merchandise Planner

The Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, this role, based at our new head office in Abbotsford, Victoria, is responsible for the coordination of all the merchandise related areas of Peter Jacksons Menswear. You will maintain optimum inventory levels and balanced assortments in order to maximise sales to increase profitability.

In addition, the role supports the analysis and reporting of sales and stock performance.

- Maintain system stock allocation software including replenishment parameters
- Ensure deliveries are within agreed time frames into stores
- Reporting of any known stock shortages / surpluses upon delivery into stores
- Manage the replenishment system at a style and size level
- Conduct monthly reviews of in store stock levels against warehouse stock levels
- Review stocks to ensure working towards KPI targets by category sell through
- Store Profiling
- Forecast stock-outs in line products and work with the purchasing department to react in a timely manner
- Forecast required stock by seasons taking into account dates, special events and trends in demand
- Working with the General Manager to assist in recommendations for markdowns &
stock lifecycle
- Work hand in hand with the purchasing department to assist in the most appropriate quantity per reference and size to purchase
- Analyse stock on hand reporting
- Ensure all marketing events are supported with appropriate merchandise in store
- Liaise with retail stores to confirm receipt of stock
- Ensure that company transfer policies & procedures are adhered to
- Produce & run regular and ad hoc retail reporting
- Monitoring of sales and stock quantities at store level to achieve optimum stock on
hand levels
- Create and maintain retail promotions
- Create and communicate of seasonal daily budget trackers to stores
- Prepare weekly trade report
- Manage timing, process & logistics of the stock take function for all stores and
warehouse
- Conduct periodic stock takes when required in retail stores and warehouse

You Will Have:

- Relevant tertiary or related qualifications are preferred
- 3 plus years’ experience allocating within a retail environment
- A proven record in maximising sales and margin, whilst delivering stock targets
- Proficient to intermediate skills in Excel
- Highly developed analytical and practical skills
- Willingness to launch and streamline new and existing procedures and systems
- A detailed and focused approach to work and deadlines
- Ability to think laterally on all issues and take a proactive approach to resolve them
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with key
internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to take ownership and demonstrate initiative

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
