About Your Next Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Merchandise Planner and Allocator to join our team We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic team player who will be accountable for planning activities associated with our Midas stores across Australia; ensuring we have the right stock, in the right store, at the right time for our customers.
Reporting to the General Manager - Midas, this role will see you:
- Contribute to the achievement of the department's sales and gross profit targets
- Providing the General Manager with Merchandise and Allocation plans.
- Analyse post-season data and conduct post-seasonal reviews. In conjunction with the product development team to develop action plans to address missed opportunities and future strategies
- Manage the buy-plan seasonally to ensure that the correct flow of options is placed and quantified
- Provide analysis and forecasting of sales, profits, purchases, and stocks, by department and class
- Provide in-season product analysis, tracking & reporting of sales and inventory levels to make sure financial goals and sales targets are met.
- Ensure appropriate stock mix in store, looking at Markdown/ Full-Price/ Promo activity achieving planned sell-throughs
- Manage aged stock and flow of stock to clearance (timing and quantity).
- Prepare reports when required in order to advise senior management on various issues related to buying
- Manage tools and data which support analysis. i.e. product attributing and classification, store gridding, size curves, model stocks
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a Merchandise Planner and/or Allocator role
- Knowledge of footwear/fashion and an understanding of retail and supply advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel (Intermediate/Advanced)
- Analytical skills, well organised, and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible and team-based attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and work in a fast-paced & energetic environment
