Melbourne, Australia Beca Full time

Are you looking for a role where your curiosity and great ideas are supported? Where a flat structure means you’re listened to, and your ideas can make an incredible impact? Beca is the place you can belong.

We are looking for an **Intermediate** or **Senior Flood Modeller **with major infrastructure project experience to join our team. You’ll join a passionate team of professionals specialising in the design of roads, rail, bridges, drainage and general civil engineering projects. Our size means you will be given a far wider breadth of experience that you might otherwise expect and be in control of your career.

**What you’ll like about the role**

At Beca, you’re not just headcount. We think what makes us great is our combination of people passionate about what they do and making a real difference in the world. And the fact we are one of the few remaining employee-owned engineering professional services firms - at Beca, our people are part of the story.

In your role as an **Intermediate** or **Senior Flood Modeller **to join our team. You will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of current and future flood modelling for infrastructure projects in Victoria as well as collaborate on inter-disciplinary projects across Australia, playing a key role in:

- Providing leadership and support to the team and wider Beca business
- Collaborating with other design disciplines including Civil, Structural and Electrical to support the integrity of overall designs
- Building and assisting in the development of flood models
- Building and maintaining effective relationships internally and externally and contribute to effective client relationship management
- Contributing to project proposals/bids

**What we’ll like about you**

You will have an appropriate Engineering degree, be either Chartered or near Chartered, and have a strong track record of successful project delivery. You should have a keen interest in flood modelling and impact assessment in a consulting environment, supported by a solid foundation in hydrologic modelling (RORB), hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW, HEC-RAS) and first principles. Skills in GIS packages (QGIS, ArcGIS) are desirable. You should be knowledgeable in Australian Rainfall & Runoff 2019 guidelines and approaches, and possess a desire to grow yourself within the Beca business. Knowledge of working with and within Melbourne Water’s guidelines and requirements would be favourably viewed.

We have a no fuss 'can do' approach and we are looking for a savvy, innovative and commercially minded professional. You will step into an open and supportive culture that values the skills that you can contribute to the group. It is an exciting time to be part of Beca and this fast-paced and diverse role will provide an environment that will challenge and stimulate you, and value the contribution you could make to our organisation.

Flexibility, proactivity and an understanding of the importance of team work in a consultancy setting are essential attributes in this role. In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills, well developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to display initiative.

You’ll be great at collaborating and lifting up and developing others. You’ll have an affinity with the Beca values of partnership, tenacity, care and enjoyment, and you’ll be passionate about bringing incredible ideas to life.

**Who is Beca?**
