**The Company**
Melbourne Water’s services range from providing clean drinking water, treating sewage in order to recover and re-use valued resources, planning to manage flooding, and keeping all 25,000 km of Melbourne’s rivers, creeks, and catchments healthy. **The Role**
Key responsibilities include:
Support the Manager Service Programs Flood and Drainage and Senior Asset Planner to maintain and renew Melbourne Water’s civil and (M&E) drainage infrastructure by:
- Working constructively and collaboratively with internal partners to develop integrated 3-10 year rolling programs that maintain the agreed civil and M&E drainage level of service.
- Support developing options and interventions for drainage maintenance and renewals.
- Assessing and reporting on drainage asset performance, service capability and risk to drainage services.
- Establishing and maintaining the requisite drainage asset management policies, plans, procedures and standards.
- Develop high quality, accurate and concise Business Need Identification (BNIs) for proposed drainage renewal works.
- Deliver work elements and/or projects as part of the Service Programs flood information program, covering flood modelling and flood mapping, as directed.
**About You**
In this position whilst work in the water sector is of value, asset management experience in other industries providing essential service utilities such as telecommunications or gas / petro-chemical supply may well be very applicable and transferable for managing the renewal and maintenance of Melbourne Water’s civil and M&E drainage infrastructure.
**Required Experience**
Ideally, you will possess:
- Understanding of asset management and drainage management principles.
- Experience in managing civil and M&E drainage assets.
- Experience in project management and able to manage consultants to deliver agreed projects.
- Excellent coordination, prioritisation and time management skills to deliver on agreed, long-term objectives while managing day-to-day challenges and work unsupervised.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills which adds value to business and customers.
- Experience in working in collaborative team environments.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders and to prepare and deliver information to an audience in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting a healthy, safe, and supportive work environment.
- Knowledge of Local Government drainage Capex and Opex programs advantageous.
- Victorian Driver’s License.
