**We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Allied Health Assistant to join our Ambulatory Allied Health Team.**

The Allied Health Assistant provides assistance and support to the Acute Ambulatory Allied Health (AAH) team in the delivery of Allied Health services to patients/clients in their own home or at GP Plus sites under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional (AHP).

This support may include therapy and interventions, delivery of equipment, communication with external community providers, communication with hospital clinicians, multi-disciplinary assessments, resource allocation, and undertaking administrative support as required, all under the direction of an AHP.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Ambulatory Allied Health Service Manager, as the Allied Health Assistant, duties for this role may include:

- Contributing to patient care by providing advanced clinical support tasks delegated under the direct or indirect supervision of an AHP
- Monitoring patient response to therapies and reporting to the supervising AHP
- Assisting with nutrition, cognitive engagement and patient movement and/or physical tasks as part of a directed therapy intervention
- Accurately maintain therapy related databases and patient documentation under the explicit direction of the supervising AHP
- Assisting patient transport to/from AHP therapy/intervention or to/from community appointments

**About you**:

- Ability to adapt to changing needs of the workplace on a daily basis
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and / or handling of patient related equipment and devices
- Sound time management, organisational and communication skills
- Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent
- Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
