**The Role**
The Henderson Consolidation Deputy Director Governance and Risk will work to the Director PMO within a newly created directorate. The position will be supported by a growing APS team supplemented by a small contractor team and will work with a considerable degree of independence to support effective and consistent governance and risk practices in support of the Branch.

Key tasks will include:

- Accountable for leading a team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
- Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees.
- Plan, lead and manage the development, implementation and maintenance of business governance related activities for Defence.
- Manage a variety of business, governance and reporting requirements.
- Implement ongoing improvements to Defence's governance frameworks consistent with policy and reform initiatives.
- Generate and maintain systems that measure quality performance and compliance against established standards.
- Engage with stakeholders across Defence's organisation to leverage appropriate governance frameworks.

**About our Team**
The Henderson Consolidation Taskforce was established in July 2024. The Taskforce has a mix of seconded ADF officers and fulltime APS employees. The intent will be that the Taskforce will transition into a new Henderson Consolidation Branch, under the Patrol Boats and Specialist Ships Division within Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG). This new EL 1 Deputy Director Governance and Risk is one of a number of new APS positions that have been established in support of Henderson Consolidation.
