**Description**:
SPV Compliance & Governance Manager
**Location**: Melbourne
**Employment type**: Permanent Full Time
**Salary**: $130,000 plus 11.5% superannuation and salary packaging
About the role
The SPV Compliance & Governance Manager oversees compliance and governance for Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) that support HCA’s affordable housing delivery. This role ensures all SPVs meet legal, financial, and regulatory obligations and provides guidance to stakeholders across finance, legal, and operational teams.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented governance or compliance professional who excels at navigating regulatory frameworks, building partnerships, and managing risk.
Manage SPV compliance with Corporations Act, ACNC and housing regulations
Oversee SPV records, governance processes and reporting
Partner with finance to deliver timely and accurate SPV financial reports
Maintain SPV risk registers and lead compliance audits
Liaise with regulators, legal counsel, and housing partners on governance issues
About the team
The General Counsel & CoSec group ensures robust governance, compliance, and legal management, underpinning Housing Choices Australia’s commitment to integrity and accountability. The team proactively manages risk, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance to sustain operational excellence and ethical standards. This function is integral to maintaining trust with stakeholders and ensuring that the organisation’s strategic and operational decisions align with legal obligations and best practices.
**Skills and Experiences**:
About you
**You will have**:
A degree in law, business, commerce, or a related field
Experience in governance, compliance or legal/regulatory roles, ideally within housing, infrastructure, or not-for-profit sectors
Strong knowledge of the Corporations Act, ACNC standards, and community housing frameworks
Strong communication and analytical skills with a focus on delivering clear, practical advice
Experience managing reporting, audits, and risk registers
You must agree to undergo any required employment screening, including but not limited to a National Criminal History or Police Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable Persons Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
