**About The Position**

Reporting to the Manager Production, you will provide high level people, operational and technical leadership to the production department.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- Deliver a safe and efficient workplace for your teams.
- Develop and coach your team to perform at the highest level.
- Ensure compliance to all internal procedures.
- Understand statutory and regulatory requirements for your department and ensure compliance.
- Deliver a culture of continuous improvement and implement robust safety, leadership, and operational strategies.
- Meet agreed production targets.
- Ensure all products produced are to the highest quality standards, as set by the Perth Mint.
- Promote strong asset management through partnership with the maintenance department.
- Provide technical leadership and improvement with the assistance of the Technical and Engineering departments.
- Manage gold and silver stocks in area of responsibility as per Perth Mint Metal Accounting strategy.
- Manage costs as per agreed budget.
- Provide relief to the Manager Production or other Superintendents when required.

**About You**
- Demonstrated leadership experience (minimum 5 years).
- Demonstrated experience in a chemical processing, refinery, or manufacturing environment.
- Engineering or trade background.
- Lean Six Sigma qualification desirable.
