For over 20 years the Lizard Centre has been a leader in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Positive Behaviour Support and early intervention in Australia. We empower children with autism and developmental delay to live their best lives. We're seeking enthusiastic and passionate Behavioural Therapy Assistants who are available to work with children and families in Newcastle.

As Lizard is part of the Nextt Group who have been operating and supporting the Newcastle community for over 20 years, you may have an opportunity to secure additional shifts as a Disability Support Worker in the Newcastle area, and we welcome all applicants who thrive in helping and supporting members of our community to get more out of life.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide 1:1 therapy to clients in varied settings, including home/clinic/school under the guidance and supervision of a Therapy Supervisor (CBA/BCBA)
- Support clients in developing their skills; communication, social interactions and emotional regulation
- Collect client data to track progress and identify areas of improvement
- Foster a positive environment that encourages client participation

**Skills & Experience**
- Studying or completed a Degree/ Certificate in Psychology, Disability, Education, Occupational Therapy or related field (preferred)
- Experience working with children is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A passion for helping individuals reach their full potential

**Requirements**:

- Right to work within Australia
- Working with Children Check & NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module - 'Quality, Safety and You'
- Full Australian Driver's License & Vehicle, current car registration and comprehensive car insurance
- Laptop/iPad - you will be using your own device on shift

To be eligible for Disability Support Worker shifts, you must meet **one** of the following minimum requirements:

- Hold a minimum of Certificate III in a relevant qualification (such as Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services, or Disability) and have completed your placement; or
- Have at least six months of paid experience as a Disability Support Worker (volunteer work or caring for family members is not included in this requirement).
