As the Principal Advisor (Policy & Engagement) you will promote best practice and evidence-based financial analysis of the opportunities, risks and challenges facing maritime safety policy, including emerging customer requirements.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Lead and contribute to public forums ahead of analysing feedback.
- Contribute to MSQ's strategic position internally and in response to local, state and national transport system policy and issues.
- Provide evidence-based advice on multiple complex projects.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare timely and well researched submissions, correspondence, briefs, program reports and/or policy documents.
- Represent the department as required in relation to organisational and local, state and national transport issues and policies.
- Assist with the provision of policy advice and secretariat support to maritime committees such as the Maritime Jobs Taskforce.
- Perform other tasks as required by the Executive Director and General Manager.
- Liaise closely with core Government agencies around the delivery of improved financial outcomes for MSQ.
- Contribute to a positive work environment that supports continuous improvement.
