The recently established XR studio (MMXR) will create visual and immersive experiences to accelerate our digital storytelling across the APNA region (Asia Pacific, New Zealand & Australia). The studio’s goal is to help our clients (both internal and external) to understand and interact with complex and challenging initiatives such as Digital Twin, Zero Carbon, Energy Transformation and Social Outcomes. MMXR is a significant strategic initiative for the business. How we simply and effectively communicate using visualisation and immersion are critical in an increasingly complex digital world. Human centred design, user experience, creativity and taking risks sit in the centre.
MMXR sits within our Digital Advisory service, which helps our client embrace new ways of working, unlock efficiencies, and deliver better services to their customers and society at large. We help our clients shape their strategies and accelerate progress towards a digital future.
- The Opportunity
Due to our dynamic growth as well as the continuous expansion of our product portfolio, we are looking for motivated and dedicated artists who love innovation, data and computer graphics to join MMXR.
You will help shape digital storytelling’ both internally within our sectors, and externally to enhance our ability to deliver outstanding work. You will also work with our Digital Twin platform (‘Moata’) development team to grow its capability (XR functions and UI/UX/CX) and articulate its offering to our clients and the market.
Depending on your experience you will take a lead role, or be in the team, delivering visualisation services but more importantly help create new ones, using XR to reach into the future. You will:

- Create hi-end artistic outputs including visualisations, renderings, flythroughs, mock-ups, simulations, photomontage, video, stills and web content.
- Have detailed knowledge of 2D and 3D production processes, workflows, delivery pipelines, software, files & formats, modelling, optimisation, texturing, lighting and industry best practice
- Have strong experience in Adobe suite (including Substance Painter), 3DS Max, and Vray, Unity or Unreal Engine
- Create 3D models supplementing existing BIM, content libraries and other sources
- Convert 2D files, reality capture, field data, point clouds and other data sources into 3D models
- Have strong artistic skills, with emphasis on real-world lighting/photography and colour theory
- Create immersive experiences across AR, MR, VR; having a strong understanding of the technologies and production processes a positive but not mandatory
- Have knowledge of rendering pipeline farm management
- Provide editing and compositing services to create 3D virtual videos
- Communicate complex technical concepts in simple to understand visuals
- Train others on artistic/modelling workflows and techniques if/as required
- Collaborate with IT colleagues, external partners, stakeholders and clients to successfully deliver outcomes.
- Embrace lean and agile working, rapid prototyping, and collaboration
- Have strong knowledge of use Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.

Skills in and/or general knowledge/awareness of the following is a positive but not mandatory:

- Experience in planning, engineering, architecture, transport, energy, water, or sustainability
- Autodesk, Bentley and ESRI (or other GIS’s) product suites
- Digital Engineering and associated workflows and systems across CAD, BIM, GIS, CDE
- Other design/modelling software i.e. Global Mapper, iToo Software, Revit, Infraworks, Civil 3D, ReCap.
- Digital Twin, data visualisation, data management, AI/ML, data science, IoT, cloud computing
- Applications development and scripting i.e. Unity C#, Unreal Blueprint, Jason, MySQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, Python, maxscript, or powershell
