We are looking an energetic and motivated individual who can hit the ground running providing person centred care. We are seeking someone to support a young girl with an Intellectual Disability, complex communication and support needs. This young lady has a wicked laugh and an incredible smile that can light up any room. Her care is provided throughout the day, overnight, in the community and in all aspects of her life when not at school.

In addition to providing high levels of support we are looking for an individual to lead our team of dedicated experienced Support Workers. The focus of the role is practice leadership - ensuring best practice across all areas of the team’s support. This role is an integral part of the team with direct support responsibilities throughout the week. Your core responsibilities will be to lead and mentor the team; you will work directly by providing scheduled support alongside your leadership role hours. You’ll facilitate the inductions of new team members and ongoing mentoring; review reports and identify areas of team reflection; update and maintain information to reflect best practice; and create and review resources of support for the team.

The position is ideal for someone who can display resilience, patience, is caring and kind, and can stay calm during challenging situations. You will have experience in, and be able to demonstrate, a proactive and engaging style of support with leadership capabilities, display initiative and have excellent communication skills. You will have a strong interest in best practice support, working with and alongside a dedicated team including behavioural and physical therapists.

To be successful in this role you will be able to autonomously and confidently follow Positive
Behaviour Support Plans as well as carefully mapping out daily routines. You will draw on your past experiences to navigate challenging behaviours or escalations in a measured and professional manner.

Before starting in the role, we do need you to:

- have a valid Australian Drivers Licence and your own reliable vehicle.
- undertake, or be willing to undertake, an NDIS Module.
- be willing to join Bowel Care training and person-centred training.
