**The opportunity**
Our client is an Australian Federal Government organisation, who are currently looking for an ICT Communication and Governance Specialist to join their team on a long term contract, and play a key role in managing communications strategies, ICT policies, and governance frameworks for communications.
- 12 month initial contract plus 12 month extension, with rates negotiable
- Geelong based, with 3 days in office + WFH
- Must be an Australian Citizen

**The role**
As an APS6 ICT Communications and Governance Specialist, you will assist in the development and implementation of ICT Communication strategies, Communication Plans and Governance Framework for the agency. The role will assist in developing ICT policies, standards and procedures to protect the agency's assets and information. Duties will include:

- Creating and executing effective communication plans to ensure consistent and clear messaging within the Agency and with external stakeholders
- Tracking and analysing communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make improvements to processes
- Assisting in the research, analysis, interpretation and creation of policy and procedure documentation
- Reviewing and documenting existing ICT practices and seek improvements to ICT processes
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of the ICT Governance Framework
- Providing guidance and support to business units on ICT Policies and cyber security matters
- Staying up to date on emerging cyber security threats, trends, and best practices

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will need:

- Significant experience in communications, including communications policy and governance
- Prior government experience
- Experience in managing ICT governance frameworks and communications policies
- Experience in working with ICT and cyber security teams in relation to managing IT communication policies
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills

Please note that this role is only open to Australian citizens, and you must be eligible to obtain a security clearance. An existing security clearance (NV1 preferred) will be highly desirable.
