**About the role**
Churches of Christ Housing Services provides affordable housing for people on low incomes, experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness.
We are seeking a reliable and organised Maintenance Officer to carry out hands-on maintenance duties Monday to Friday across multiple locations. Responsibilities include:
- Grounds maintenance: mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, planting
- Household and garden refuse removal
- Basic property repairs, fittings, and cleaning
- Equipment upkeep and record keeping
- Occasional supervision of contractors, trainees, or other maintenance staff
**What you can bring to the team**
You are a reliable and hardworking individual with a positive, can-do attitude. Motivated, practical, and team-oriented, you’re ready to take ownership of your daily tasks while supporting a clean and safe environment for residents. You work well independently, manage your time effectively, and approach each task with care and a strong commitment to service.
Physically capable and hands-on, you’re confident using groundskeeping tools and performing general property maintenance. Your strong communication skills, safety awareness, and adaptability across different locations make you a valuable part of the team.
**To be successful in this role, you will ideally have**:
- Experience in maintenance, landscaping, or similar hands-on work
- Willingness to travel to Bribie Island
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Experience using gardening and maintenance equipment (e.g. mowers, trimmers, hand tools)
- General handyman skills and a practical approach to property upkeep
- Possess or willingness to acquire:_
- Understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements, or willingness to gain this within one month
- A valid National Police Certificate
- Working with Children (Blue Card)
