**About this role**

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining beautiful spaces, and wants to make a meaningful impact in your community? As a Gardener with Churches of Christ, you’ll be more than just a green thumb—you’ll be a valued member of our Seniors Living team, helping to create a safe, welcoming, and peaceful environment for our residents.

This role combines hands-on gardening with light maintenance duties, offering variety and purpose in your day-to-day work. Whether you’re semi-retired, looking for flexible part-time hours, or simply passionate about outdoor care, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organisation.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Maintaining gardens and outdoor areas: mowing, pruning, fertilising, and removing garden waste
- Performing general maintenance and minor repairs across the facility
- Supporting preventative maintenance schedules
- Assisting and supervising contractors, volunteers, and other maintenance workers
- Providing pet care (where applicable) and performing orderly duties
- Keeping accurate records using our asset management system

You’re practical, reliable, and enjoy working with your hands. You take pride in your work, value community, and are looking for a role where you can make a real difference in the lives of others. You’re also safety-conscious, organised, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

**You’ll bring**:

- At least 12 months’ experience in a maintenance, gardening, or handyman role
- A current driver’s licence
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices (or willingness to learn)
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Outlook, Internet Explorer)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

**It’s a bonus if you have**:

- Experience in aged care or community services
- Familiarity with asset management systems (e.g., HardCat)
- Relevant non-trade qualifications

**Compliance Requirements**:

- National Police Check
