We are recruiting for a **Head Sommelier** with premium dining experience to join our incredibly skilled, international team.
You will be reporting directly to our Director of Beverage.
- Australian working rights
- Current NSW RSA certificate
- Knowledge of wine and food pairing; with focus on Italian, French, and Australian wines
- Understanding of COGS
- Fluent spoken English
- Formal hospitality qualifications
- Ability to create tasteful food & wine pairings
- 1 year experience in a similar role
- A positive attitude to customer service and teamwork
**Tasks include**:
- Creating and updating the wine list in coordination with chefs and Director of Beverages
- Supervising wine service and collaborating with winemakers / suppliers to renew our selections and achieve better prices
- Facilitating training Sommeliers and Wine Waiters to ensure knowledge is current
- Advising customers on wine pairing with food, occasion and budget
- Ensure wines are served at the correct temperature and with the corresponding glassware
- Assisting with guest orders and service
