THE ROLE
The Works Program Officer role is responsible for facilitating, organising and participating in processes that lead to the formulation and monitoring of asset management works, tracking and reporting on the delivery to ensure the Secretary and sector managed asset strategies are effectively implemented. The role supports the development of the annual capital program, and requires knowledge and analysis of relevant asset information, stakeholder consultation and coordination of planning processes, and experience in using the Housing Integrated Information Program (HiiP), and development of database and monitoring tools. This rewarding and challenging role will work collaboratively within the Specialist Accommodation team in the Asset Lifecycle Planning Unit.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

- Assist in the preparation and presentation of reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on a range of matters.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Manage the procurement of assigned projects and engagements, ensuring they are completed on time and on budget to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
- Ability to use analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems, identifying creative ideas and linkages to implementation on innovations.
- Contribute to proactive risk and issue management, recommend options and solutions, maintain the risk, issues and lessons learned register and produce reports as required.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OH&S) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impacts clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
- Actively and proactively, contribute to reporting functionality, including weekly, fortnightly and monthly reporting through to senior executive.
- Monitor contractual compliance, forecasting and spend analysis and provide commercial advice and recommendations as required.
- Administer contract management activities using the department's information management systems.
- Coordinate and support branch, unit and team meetings and other forums as required.
- Undertake or assist with other team projects as requested.
