**The Role**
The Skills and Training Group is responsible for administering programs and policies on behalf of the Australian Government to help people develop the skills they need to gain employment and build their careers. We also work with stakeholders to build strong sustainable skills and training systems to allow Australians to skill and reskill in response to changing technology and workforce needs.

We are seeking motivated and high performing individuals to fill various data specialist roles at the APS4-6 levels in the following divisions in the Skills and Training Group:

- Apprenticeships and Foundation Skills Division
- Careers and International Skills Division
- Industry Engagement and Quality Division
- Strategic Policy and Projects Division
- VET Data, Loans and Compliance Division
- National Skills Agreement Taskforce

**Duties and Responsibilities**
The key duties of the positions include:
**APS Level 6**:

- Support the development of policies and frameworks.
- Draft high-quality documents appropriate for a range of audiences, including briefings, minutes, correspondence and reports in varying complexity and to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
- Analyse, interpret and evaluate information/data from a broad range of sources to inform future program direction.
- Ensure high priority and urgent tasks are managed efficiently and effectively, with a quality product being provided.
- Build and sustain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support in the management of the planning, organising, and coordination of policy advice.
- Supporting the development of stakeholder and communications engagement plans and strategies.
- Demonstrate well-developed verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a broad variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work under limited direction to deliver work to a high standard with good attention to detail.

**APS Level 5**:

- Providing input into documents including briefings, minutes, correspondence and reports
- Support the establishment and input to internal and external reporting requirements, including reports to Parliament, the Ministers and Senior Executives.
- Assist in the development of stakeholder and communications engagement plans and strategies.
- Demonstrate well-developed administrative, organisational skills
- Contributing towards the ongoing policy maintenance

**APS Level 4**
- Providing administrative support to the daily operations
- Performing program quality assurance activities, including regular reporting
- Assisting in the preparation of briefing materials, correspondence, reports, and other products for departmental executives, and for industry forums.
- Working across teams to deliver outcomes including understanding how your work impacts others.
