**About the role**

We are seeking an experienced and motivated **Piling Designer** to join our team, with a strong passion for delivering design work from the contractor’s side rather than traditional consultancy.

This is a unique opportunity for a geotechnical or strong structural engineer who has an interest in geotechnical design, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment and wants to become a leading expert in piling and ground improvement design.

Experience working on the contractor side of design will be highly regarded, particularly where it involves managing competing deadlines, solving real-time design issues, and ensuring practical constructability.

**Key responsibilities**- Lead or support the design of piling systems, foundations, and basements on complex ground conditions- Produce and check geotechnical and structural calculations using industry-standard software such as PLAXIS and WALLAP- Design and review retention and basement structures- Collaborate with construction and delivery teams to ensure practical and efficient design outcomes- Contribute to design methodology, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team

**About you**- Minimum 5 years’ experience in piling, geotechnical, or foundation design- Strong geotechnical and structural engineering background- Experience using PLAXIS, WALLAP, and other relevant design software- Demonstrated experience designing basement structures and retention systems- Proven experience delivering design work on the contracting side - with strong time management and real-world problem-solving skills- Passion for constructability, practical design outcomes, and contractor-focused delivery- A team player with the ambition to grow into a specialist in ground improvement and piling design- Willingness to support estimating activities and assist in writing proposals
