Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Assistant Director - Governance & Policy on a contract for 7 months with potential extension for 2x6 months.

**Position Overview**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
Duties may include some or all of the following:

- develop, implement and ensure the accuracy and currency of governance frameworks and policies
- identify, monitor and report on governance risks, issues and benefits
- develop and implement quality check processes, to assist with accurate and quality outputs, encouraging quality decision making within the agency
- create controls to ensure information provided for reporting purposes is reliable and accurate
- provide professional advice on governance matters in area of specialisation
- develop and manage stakeholder relationships to uplift the agency’s governance and quality management practices
- promote the delivery of the agency’s strategic vision through daily work practices and by attending collaborative forums
- implement effective secretariat and governance frameworks to support decision making; including coordinating and managing committee logistics and operational matters
- exercise appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.

**Knowledge Required**:
Knowledge and understanding of:

- relevant governance approaches and frameworks in area of specialisation
- records management standards, systems and procedures
- the agency’s strategic direction, plan, priorities and functions
- legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements relevant to the work area
- the agency’s privacy, ethics, workplace health and safety and security protocols
- relevant business systems and tools
