JBS Brooklyn has an opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join the team in a permanent full-time capacity.

You will be based at our Culture and Innovation Centre and report directly to the Safety Manager. You will play a lead role in the ongoing development of a culture of safety and reduction of work-related injuries in selected key operations of the plant. We have both morning and afternoon shift available.

**You will take responsibility for improving safety across our key operations which include**:

- Cold Stores, Engineering and Render Operations
- Lamb and Value Add Operations
- Beef and Livestock Operations

**Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:

- Working as part of the Brooklyn Safety team to improve and integrate JBS Safety Management System across Brooklyn.
- Driving safety compliance and behavioural change
- Ensuring efficient and effective WHS practices that are aligned to business objectives and values.
- Leading and closing out incidents, hazards and/or near-miss investigations.
- Developing effective engagement and collaborative relationships with Health and Safety Representatives, Supervisors and Managers.
- Developing and delivering topic specific safety training and toolbox talks as required.
- Developing and managing Health and Safety Consultation and Safety Championship Programs
- Collecting and analysing Safety Dashboard data for presentation at daily and weekly meetings.

**About you**:

- Diploma, Degree or Postgraduate in Workplace Health and Safety or related field
- Previous experience in a dedicated health and safety role
- Be results-driven, motivated and committed to improving e health and safety.
- High levels of engagement, communication and team skills
- Be a critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with Safety personnel, Health and Safety Representatives, supervisors and Managers.
- Provide innovative thinking in evaluating operational needs to deliver 'fit for purpose' safety improvement solutions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on safe plant, process and people improvement
