An excellent career opportunity exists in our QA department as Fat Plant Operator, reporting to the Quality Control Manager at Pepe’s Ducks.

**About the role**

You would be responsible for rendering operator is responsible for the processing of animal by-products, particularly fats and proteins, into usable materials

Flexible with working hours as it would be combination of day shift (4am-2pm) and afternoon shift (2pm - Midnight) 4 days per week.

**Duties include**:

- Operate and monitor rendering equipment, to process animal by-products.
- Ensure that machines are functioning correctly and safely.
- Receive and inspect incoming animal by-products for quality and compliance with safety standards.
- Load raw materials into the rendering machines and manage the flow of materials throughout the process
- Monitor temperature, pressure, and other parameters during rendering to ensure optimal processing conditions.
- Adjust equipment settings as necessary to maintain product quality
- Conduct regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficient operation.
- Clean machinery and processing areas to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination
- Maintain accurate records of process control check sheets, receiving, dispatch, packing sheets etc.
- Document any issues or discrepancies during the rendering process
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Safe handling of chemicals and Safe working with hot liquids
- Being able to work mostly alone / unsupervised which includes cooking, packing and cleaning and when no fat plant work available to work in an abattoir
