**About this opportunity**
Our Large Format Industrial Packaging business specialises in the manufacture and supply of rigid plastic and metal packaging servicing for the consumer and industrial sectors.
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the Supply Planning function seeking operational efficiencies through balancing capacity and inventory to deliver customer demand outcomes at lowest overall cost. This role will also track and analyse Supply Chain performance data to maximise service to the customer whilst conserving cash with mínimal working capital. You will also take on responsibility for managing decoration and print at the Truganina site as well as process improvement for the planning function.
**Your key responsibilities include**:
- Translating the finished goods demand plan into a short-term horizon production plan in SAP, maximising operational performance and service in accordance to Inventory policy.
- Creating the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for medium term and Rough-Cut Capacity Plan (RCCP) for materials planning, long-term capacity, and assessments for future capital investment
- Leading the site Supply Review Meeting
- Developing and maintaining planning assumptions including safety stocks, make frequency, lead times, order quantities, cycle times in conjunction with Sales, Operations, and Other Steel Supply Chain teams
- Adjusting the production schedule to accommodate any short-term changes to demand
- Collaborate with Demand Planning to provide insights on the forecast to improve the overall accuracy
- Monitoring production to ensure adherence to plan and availability to meet customer demand
- Ensuring data integrity through MRP for accurate material requirements
- Monitoring and tracking inventory levels in accordance with policy and reconciling variances by identifying root causes along with potential solutions
- Ensuring all inventory metrics are met and collaborate cross-functionally to address inventory related issues to full resolution
- Managing all new product introduction data set up process in accordance with the central master data process
- Ensuring data accuracy by updating changes in a timely manner and flag all deleted and obsolete materials in SAP
- Managing all communications regarding service issues, back orders, excess items, and slow-moving inventory to all relevant parties
- Identifying opportunities and acting to build strategic relationships with all business areas/divisions, customers, suppliers, and contractors that are established, maintained, and improved to help achieve business goals

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Relevant experience in supply chain planning processes, ideally within the FMCG, manufacturing or distribution industries
- Solid practical experience in SAP systems (in Manufacturing, Warehouse, Logistics and advanced computer and excel skills.
- Well-developed analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- High level of organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to understand, anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills at the appropriate level or all stakeholders - active listening, written, verbal and formal presentations as required
