We have a new opportunity for a **Supply Planner**_ _**to join our Supply Chain team in Melbourne’s South East Suburbs. This role will focus on quoting/placing orders with vendors and suppliers, monitoring orders, shipments, and the movement of materials to ensure they are delivered within a specified timeframe.
**The key responsibilities include**:
- Arrange for the delivery, assembly, and distribution of inventory.
- Examine documents, materials, and products, monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to company policies & standards.
- Order and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet customer demands.
- Follow up with freight forwarding agents on timely shipments of air freight, sea freight status and delivery position of orders and advising appropriate action.
- Assist in defining standard operating procedures, work instructions, process flows and related documentation.
- Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, and changes to order estimates & delivery dates.
- Effectively prioritize, pursue, and complete, in a timely manner, both planed and unexpected work assignments.
- Prepares purchasing and accounting paperwork such as purchase orders and requisitions; reconciles invoices with purchase orders in preparation for payment processing.
- Corresponds with suppliers for quotations; maintains contact with vendors regarding current status of purchase orders.
**Some of the key experience and knowledge we desire include**:
- Strong SAP procurement/purchasing knowledge and experience (highly desirable)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and particularly Excel formulas
- Previous expediting, air freight, sea freight experience in a manufacturing environment
- An ability to work within a busy and complex environment
- An ability to maintain accuracy, attention to detail and ensure priorities and deadlines are met
- A supportive team player and coordinator
