**About the Role**:
This is a Fixed Term Part Time position at 56 hours per fortnight as a Patient Support Officer until 30/06/2027. In this role, you willl be the first point of contact for parents and carers. This is a pivotal role where you'll play a key part in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process for our young patients.

**What you'll be responsible for**:

- Assisting with transition work to care closer to home for select patients.
- Maintaining accurate waitlists for elective surgeries and procedures, prioritising patients based on clinical need.
- Admitting patients for surgery, ensuring all paperwork is complete and liaising with families on the day of admission.
- Working closely with medical and nursing staff, the Hospital Bed Manager, and various departments to coordinate admissions and bed allocation.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information in our electronic medical record system (Epic) and Patient Administration System (IBA).
- Providing exceptional customer service to families, addressing their questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.

**Your skills and experience**:

- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a healthcare admissions or waitlist management role.
- Possesses excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for patient-centred care.
- Is a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
