**School Improvement & Education Reform**

School Improvement & Education Reform leads and directs the operations of more than 2200 NSW public schools to maximise the academic achievements of all students and create a culture of success, learning and a desire to achieve, underpinned by innovative, adaptive and supportive strategies that also supports the quality of teaching and educational leadership at the school level. The division is responsible for managing policy, strategies and operations that support principals, teachers and students in preschools, infants, primary, secondary, central and community schools, specialist and comprehensive schools, specific purpose schools, intensive English and environmental education centres. The overarching goal of School Improvement & education Reform is to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students in our public schools from preschool to year 12.

**About the role**

This role will manage the day to day administrative functions in the Executive Director’s office to support the work of the senior management and the staff including management of customer service, records and correspondence, equipment and stores and staff and school matters.

**Your key accountabilities will include but not be limited to;**
- Providing high quality clerical and administrative support, including the word processing and production of multi-faceted reports and audio-visual presentations.
- Providing exemplary customer service to DoE staff, to staff in other government departments and to members of the community.
- Establishing and maintaining effective records management and administrative systems as required for the Executive Director and team and monitoring project schedules to ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Preparing correspondence as negotiated with the Executive Director.
- Communicating and negotiating with senior officers, other internal staff and external bodies in the organisation of meetings and travel arrangements.
- Overseeing the work of the Executive Support team and ensure provision of relevant training and professional learning opportunities.
- Assisting with extraction and maintenance of information within corporate and internet based databases.
- Collaborating with other senior management areas to support the work of the senior officers.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Hold a Valid Working with Children Check for paid employment

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
