About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to provide administration support within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) along with a range of valuable support duties as directed as part of the administration team within ICU.
About you
- Provide first point of call, reception and telephone response service for patients and/or relatives and ensure re-direction to the appropriate area for care by health professionals, using tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Provide a high standard of keyboard, word processing services and data integrity.
- Perform duties such as searches, admissions, booking Public and private appointments and discharges of patients both public and private on the Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS) including the completion of associated paperwork as per District policy and departmental procedures.
- Ensure compliance within Queensland Health requirements for mandatory and non-mandatory data collection within admitted and non-admitted data collection by accurately and efficiently entering and updating patient demographics, next of kin, Medicare and referring doctor details etc. for all elective patients, before patients leave the area.
- Create new patient medical records, maintain and prepare existing medical records, ensuring the sorting and filing of all emergency notes, pathology reports and admission paperwork as per District policies before returning to the Medical Records Department or transferring to the wards as well as maintain all ward inpatient charts.
