**Location**: Sydney, Mckell Building or Parramatta, 4PSQ - Up to 5 days a week required to be in the office
**This role sits within the SafeWork Division in the Deputy Secretary team**
**About SafeWork**
We are the state’s workplace health and safety regulator; our focus is on harm prevention and improving the safety culture in NSW workplaces. We work with the NSW community to reduce work related fatalities, serious injuries and illnesses.
Our customers include recipients of our services, products and incentives, families and the community, the Parliament, the Minister, other agencies and organisations.
**About the role**
We are seeking a highly motivated Executive Officer to join our team supporting the a/Deputy Secretary SafeWork NSW. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and the Director Governance and Assurance to provide strategic and operational support and will be a key player in driving the success of SafeWork NSW.
You will be required to coordinate requests and tasks across a wide range of business operations to support our staff and the delivery of our regulatory services. This will include developing briefings with recommendations and options on a wide range of matters.
**About you**
You will have a proven track record of success in a similar role, with excellent communication and management skills. You will be highly organised, self-driven and enjoy being challenged to deliver multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
Your professionalism and integrity are crucial to this role. You will be able to work with highly sensitive and confidential information and lead a team to follow all rules, policies and guidelines.
**Skills and Experience**
- The ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with staff, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management principles and the ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills including capability to identify and seek out relevant information, develop options and assess risks
- Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound and informed decisions.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to develop and implement systems to track and progress key actions.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands.
- Experience in leading the delivery of secretariat services.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting complex legislation
- Experience in a regulatory environment beneficial
