**The Opportunity**

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Strategy Analyst - Business Strategies who will develop and recommend strategy using industry expertise and well developed analysis of economics, financials, technologies, business challenges, and other factors that may impact the business.

In this role you will provide advice and develops recommendations that positions that business as a lead player in the industry and delivers superior long-term security holder value.

You will support the Strategy Manager - Business Strategies** **with the development of market research and industry analysis, extracting insights and implications to support the provision of advice to Transgrid’s Board, Executive and other senior leaders in the business. You will also assist in the development of projects and analysis for stakeholders in other business units, as business requirements arise.

As a **Strategy Analyst **you will:

- Assist development of business strategies for Transgrid
- Identify opportunities that are aligned with the strategic direction as well as other implications for the Transgrid Group that should be further investigated or mitigated
- Provide thought leadership insights and recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative analysis of market behaviour, and financial and economic indicators
- Assist with the development and preparation of materials to communicate findings and recommendations to Senior Leaders, Executive General Managers and Board
- Develop analysis that feeds into corporate strategy and other initiatives and provide specialist advice
- Present key findings of analysis to support different areas of the business in strategic and tactical decision making, as well as contributing to other business plans and initiatives in other business units
- Support the business planning process to ensure adequate funding and resources are available for strategic initiatives
- Assist external service providers and consultancies in provision of information, advice or analysis
- Communicate the key issues / emerging developments that have the potential to significantly impact Transgrid’s performance
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to influence the strategic direction of business units and groups

**Skills & Experience**

To be successful in the role you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline such as engineering, economics or business
- Knowledge and understanding of Australian energy markets, regulatory frameworks and industry trends
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Be open to feedback and enjoy working in a collaborative and iterative team
- An ability to think innovatively and identify new ways of doing things
- Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Integrity and commitment to ethical practice, equity, and diversity
