The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is responsible for the design and delivery of the Australian Government’s infrastructure, transport, regional development, communications and arts policies and programs.

Our work touches every Australian community and underpins our economy and society. Our focus is on connecting Australians, enriching communities, and empowering our regions. We do this by providing policy advice to government, and delivering programs, services, and research for the benefit of all Australians.

The Communication Branch provides high quality advice and support through a range of enabling services, including ministerial announcements, speechwriting services, strategic communication services, internal communication, media liaison, social media engagement, advertising campaigns and design and video services.

**The opportunity we have available**
The Communication Branch is seeking motivated and skilled staff at the APS5 level for our Internal Communication team. This position is responsible for assisting with the delivery and implementation of a wide range of communication activities to support the Government’s infrastructure, transport, regional, communications and arts policy agenda.

The intent is to establish a merit pool for a period of 18 months as a result of this selection process.

**What will you do?**
As part of a small team that reports to the Director, Internal Communications and Creative Services, you will build strong relationships with our internal stakeholders to develop and deliver high quality internal communication services and materials for the department.

Key duties include:

- Supporting the development and implementation of high quality internal communication services and products for the department’s employee networks, line areas and general staff.
- Developing newsletters, as required, including the sourcing, compilation and publication of articles developed through liaison with the department’s employee networks, senior executive, line areas and general staff.
- Working closely with our creative design and video teams and contributing to visual assets for internal communication purposes.
- Collaborating with our stakeholders to assist in developing engaging internal communications campaigns.
- Working in collaboration with our Diversity and Inclusion Networks and departmental Social Club to develop and maintain our internal events and key dates calendar and support their internal events, including promotions, logistics and ‘on the day’ assistance.
- Compiling and evaluating analytics about our key internal channels and content to facilitate ongoing improvements to internal communications and staff engagement.
