Cancer Council Queensland has implemented a new strategy, which provides this exciting new opportunity.
As the Manager, Prevention and Early Detection you will be responsible for leading innovative and evidence-based cancer prevention and early detection strategies and programs to drive outcomes in cancer prevention and early detection to reduce cancer risk for all Queenslanders.
You will be responsible for ensuring that we provide Queenslanders with evidence-based and up to date cancer prevention programs and information to reduce cancer risk and increase screening and early detection.
This role is Permanent Full-time (37.5 hours per week).

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have proven leadership skills, be able to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, manage and monitor budgets and be skilled in the development and maintenance of public health or health promotion programs.
You will also be able to contribute to the development and evaluation of a cancer prevention strategy to support Queenslanders to reduce their cancer risk, find cancer early and participate in screening.
**Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
**Essential Skills**:
- Leadership experience in a public health or health promotion role.
- Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, health science, public health or related field, or relevant experience.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team, including training, supervision, managing performance, recruitment, and support.
- Experience in health promotion program development and project management is essential.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering on evidence-based programs and measurable strategic outcomes.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
- A current Queensland driver’s licence is required.
- Well-developed presentation and communication skills with an ability to liaise effectively with a range of audiences.
- Experience with program management including process documentation and evaluation.
- Experience in the planning, provision and evaluation of education and training programs.
- An ability to manage and expand existing networks whilst identifying and establishing new opportunities.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of the community.
- Proven ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Well-developed administration skills, including intermediate computer skills, including Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
**Desirable Skills**:
- Experience working with volunteers with an ability to recruit, manage and coordinate volunteers.
- An understanding of the impact that the diagnosis and treatment of cancer have on individuals, their partners and families.
