Procurement Specialist

**Role Purpose**
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, deployment and management of category strategies (and where appropriate lead the same in respect of sub-categories) in order to deliver sustained value and competitive advantage to business units and the organization overall.
**Accountabilities**

- Act in line with the organisation's Leadership Model actively contributing to creating a high-performance, values-based company culture.
- Build an environment of cooperation/collaboration with business units/stakeholders, challenging the status quo to ‘stretch’ both category and business objectives.
**_Market_**
- Develop and maintain relationships across procurement teams to continuously seek and utilise category synergies as appropriate.
- Support the development, implementation and management of relevant category activities including annual and multi-year plans.
**_Assets_**
- Comply with procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Ensure ‘real time’ maintenance and updates in the PM portal for the purposes of tracking benefits and status of all projects
**_Financials_**
- Manage and achieve total cost of ownership solutions as identified in the Procurement Plan and subsequent sub-category plans.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver best value.
- Drive preferred supplier compliance to ensure expected cost benefits are realised.
**Critical Experience**
- 3 - 5 years relevant experience across procurement/supply chain.
- Experience in developing quantative and qualitative models and processes for RFx’s.
- Experience in contract preparation, Contract negotiation/execution, Contract management, Supplier development/management.
- Experience in analytics and financial principles.
**Critical Knowledge**
- Tertiary education within the areas of business, finance or similar.
- Knowledge of procurement methodologies as applied within a category management framework.
- Relevant category knowledge.
