We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team at our Tullamarine plastics plant. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining plant and equipment, performing Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), and assisting with corrective actions in breakdown maintenance. You will also have the chance to contribute to projects and work with both internal and external customers.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Conduct servicing of equipment, building, and company assets, including injection moulding machines, robots, and tooling.
- Complete preventative maintenance activities according to the schedule.
- Identify equipment defects and determine root causes at the earliest stage.
- Ensure prompt rectification of equipment defects and breakdowns to satisfy the Production Team.
- Perform project work and installations.
- Source appropriate parts for repairs and modifications.
- Collaborate with external contractors as necessary.
- Engage in on-the-job training, including the use and creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist fellow team members with all the above responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records in line with company requirements.
- Participate in risk assessments, hazard identification, hazard control, and workplace inspections.
- Utilise continuous improvement techniques to drive enhancements across production areas.
- Employ data analysis to identify areas for improvement and monitor/measure the changes.
- Develop, implement, and promote standardised processes and conditions to meet customer and business requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the production team to resolve engineering and machine problems that hinder efficient production.
- Be an active member of the maintenance and engineering team through open and honest communication.

**Education and Experience**:

- Trade qualification with a certificate in hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience in TPM, injection moulding, and IML robotics.
- Forklift license (preferred).
- Elevated work platform license (preferred).
- Qualifications in injection moulding (preferred).
- Disconnect-reconnect license (preferred).

**Required Knowledge**:

- Proficiency in machining and welding skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise between short-term operational needs and long-term requirements.
- Effective problem-solving skills, delivering simple and elegant solutions.
- Excellent communication abilities.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $39.83 - $41.17 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

**Experience**:

- Fitter: 2 years (preferred)
- machining and welding: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
