**Your new company**

My client a Government Department is currently seeking the expertise of an experienced Principal Communications Specialist to join their team. This role will enable you to develop your media and communications experience within this forward-thinking Government Department.

**Your new role**

Commencing immediately, you will develop strategic communications plans, content and materials for a range of internal and external platforms and audiences. You will manage digital channels from planning and executing through to analysis. Your strong political nous will see you managing media enquiries making sound decisions and writing speeches on behalf of Executives.

Working within a fast-paced and politically sensitive environment, the position needs to be adaptable and able to work across multiple projects, priorities, and business areas autonomously, effectively and with a strong focus on delivery of key deadlines.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Developed communications experience at a similar level, ideally within a public sector or similar environment
- The ability to develop and implement strategic communications plans coupled with experience writing for a range of platforms including traditional, web, social media, media releases, speeches and memos
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an eye for detail
- The ability to juggle multiple priorities at any given time with competing deadlines
- The ability to work autonomously with limited direction
- Strong demonstrated political nous making informed decisions that are measured and in-line with the Departments strategic objectives
- You must hold a valid NPC
- Immediately available to commence asap
