**The Opportunity**:
This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your experience to help shape the future of Energy Transformation in South Australia. Due to significant increase in both renewables and demand for power, we have an opportunity for a Senior or Principal Engineer with a passion for Special Protection Schemes (SPS) to join the team.

The role involves undertaking professional, specialist work with considerable independence, ingenuity and judgement. You will:

- Provide technical leadership and oversight for adoption of new practices.
- Provide functional leadership to current and planned SPS projects including Project Energy Connect
- Develop and maintain SPS functional descriptions and requirements
- Prepare SPS models and undertake power system studies to verify and assess performance
- Drive, deliver and manage complex SPS whilst building strong relationships across broad stakeholders groups.

**About You**:
As an experienced Senior or Principal Engineer, you will have an inquisitive mind and strong written and verbal communication ability which enables you to clearly articulate your ideas and engage with peers for collaboration. You’ll have an agile, flexible approach coupled with and the ability to provide leadership and mentoring to others, positively contribute to a collaborative and constructive culture.

In addition, you’ll have:

- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- Membership or eligibility for membership to Engineers Australia
- Chartered Status with Engineers Australia (highly desirable)
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience
- In-depth knowledge of power system protection design, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance coupled with demonstratable knowledge of power system security, modelling and analysis
- Experience with PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory and other specialist analysis tools
- Sound knowledge of the National Electricity Market and legislated industry requirements (National Electricity Rules & AEMO Guidelines)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to enable you to provide commercially sound and pragmatic solutions

These qualities will allow you to effectively consider a range of variables when identifying the needs of the power system and solutions available to ElectraNet while simultaneously managing commercial and regulatory pressures.
