Our Energy advisory capability, within our Commercial Advisory and Transactions team, is continuing to grow nationally. We advise corporates and governments on the energy and climate transition and have opportunities at **Associate Director and Director** levels nationally.

**About You**

You are passionate about the **energy transition, climate change and decarbonisation** and want to support Australia’s energy transition to accelerate and enhance Australian and international progress toward net zero.

You are a professional who shares our purpose of building a better Australia through providing clients with the latest thinking in strategic, commercial, financial, and transaction management advice.

You are interested in working in diverse teams with some of Australia’s most talented and recognised industry leaders in Energy, Infrastructure, Engineering, Projects, and Commercial Advisory and you have experience in majority of the following:

- A strong interest in developing a career in power & utility infrastructure, corporate finance, multidisciplinary strategy and design, transaction advisory, and energy policy areas,
- Experience or the skills to provide strategic, commercial, financial advice and financial modelling,
- Developed business cases and feasibility studies to support investment / commercial decisions,
- Experience in long term strategic energy planning
- An understanding and/or experience in contract and commercial negotiations,
- Have a good understanding of (or passion for) new and emerging value propositions in the energy sector (such as electric vehicles, hydrogen, solar & storage, or demand side response),
- The ability to assist our clients with developing and implementing energy policy, such as renewable energy zones, standalone power systems, hydrogen, energy storage and other aspects related to the energy transition.

- Provide clients with strategic and commercial advice in relation to business cases, strategy and transaction processes on energy, water, and utility related projects.
- Assist our clients with developing and implementing energy policy which could include renewable energy zones, standalone power systems, hydrogen, energy storage and other aspects related to the energy transition.
- Prepare client deliverables, including reports and presentations, financial analysis.
- Develop market intelligence and sector knowledge.
- Contribute to specific business development initiatives, particularly proposals and pitches.
- Maintain a good understanding of the regulatory frameworks, decarbonisation trends and financial implications for the water and energy sectors.
- Support leaders to identify opportunities for future service delivery and establish positive client relationships to continually grow and drive the IAP vision both within KPMG and the broader community.
- Pursue opportunities to continuously improve the way we work and “do things better” for the benefit of our clients and the community more broadly.
- Play a key role in sustaining our positive culture, contributing to the growth and success of our team.
- Leverage and grow our technology and data capabilities and solutions to enhance decisions and outcomes for clients and our business.

- Relevant professional experience likely gained in an Engineering firm, management consultancy, corporate advisor, investment bank, project finance team of a commercial bank, infrastructure fund, Chartered Accounting firm, law firm, construction firm or within Government,
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills, combined with high attention to detail,
- Bring excellent report writing, Excel and PowerPoint skills,
- Bring experience or interest in energy policy and economic regulation,
- Bring an inquisitive mind-set and be comfortable challenging the status quo,
- Ability to juggle competing demands and work as a team player in a dynamic and results-based environment, and
- Interest in the use of technology and data to improve the way in which infrastructure projects are planned, procured, delivered, and managed.
