Process Plant Operator Trainee

An excellent opportunity is now available to start a full time, two-year traineeship in Process Plant Operations. In this role, you will be based at Esso Hastings and employed by WPC Group. This will involve learning in the workplace and studying at a TAFE/RTO (Registered Training Organisation).

**The Role**:
This traineeship opportunity will not only see you through to receiving a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Process Plant Operations), but will also provide you with world class training, mentoring, industry leading skills and safety practices, and the opportunity for variety and exposure to many aspects of the occupation.

This Process Plant Operations Traineeship would be well suited to recent school leavers or entry level applicants. We also encourage those who are living in the Mornington Peninsula community to apply.

**You will be responsible for a range of duties which will include (but not limited to)**:

- Collect, analyse and organise information related to process plant operations
- Contribute to workplace documentation and maintain workplace records
- Recognise and solve problems or identify potential problems in a plant unit, system or area
- Identify and isolate faults in equipment
- Identify the most appropriate process conditions and make adjustments to improve performance of units, systems or areas
- Select and use appropriate equipment, materials, processes and procedures
- Operation and adjustment of unit, system or plant area processes
- Isolating and preparing equipment for maintenance

**Benefits and Additional Information**:
While you are based at Esso worksites, WPC Group will provide you with a dedicated mentor (Field Officer) to help support and guide you throughout your traineeship. Regular visits in the workplace and at TAFE will take place to ensure you are developing and learning to requirements, but you will also have someone available whenever you have questions, challenges or just need to talk to someone.

We will also coordinate the TAFE (study) component of your traineeship. In addition, you will receive initial and ongoing internal training to ensure that your skills and knowledge are in line with the Company’s, but also industry leading standards and requirements.

You will earn an award wage as you complete your traineeship and become qualified. All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is supplied throughout your traineeship tenure.
