**Division Responsibilities**

The Market and Workforce Division within the Ageing and Aged Care Group aims to enable

a sustainable aged care system that delivers high quality services that are responsive to the

needs and preferences of all consumers, including those with diverse characteristics and life

experiences. The Division operates with respect and works across boundaries. Our team is

appropriately skilled, inclusive and engages with risk, and works collaboratively with

stakeholders. The Division undertakes research and analysis to deliver policy and programs

that will achieve a high quality and sustainable aged care sector.

**Branch Responsibilities**

The Workforce Branch is responsible for shaping effective aged care workforce policy and

programs in Australia. Responsibilities of the Branch include aged care workforce reform

and development, industrial relations, and workforce training, along with data and

evaluation.

**Section Responsibilities**

The Data Management and Evaluation section provides data management, analysis, and

support to the Workforce Branch of the Ageing and Aged Care Group, and the Department

more broadly. The responsibilities of the team include:

- Development and management of the Aged Care Workforce Census, including

design, project planning, consultation with stakeholders, management of fieldwork

and analysis and interpretation and communication of results
- Management of evaluation projects relating to aged care workforce policies,

including the Evaluation of Aged Care Nursing Programs project
- Provision of advice and support in relation to aged care workforce data and

modelling
- Supporting the work of the Workforce Branch and the Department more broadly,

including providing briefs, responding to data and information requests and

collaboration and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.***

**Key Responsibilities**

The responsibilities of this role may include:

- Providing support to the Aged Care Workforce Census project, including drafting

papers and briefs, consulting and liaising with internal and external stakeholders,

and contributing to data collection design, management and analysis.
- Contributing to the development of an internal dashboard using data visualisation

tools and data from the Aged Care Workforce Census and other sources.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to support policy and program

evaluation projects through the provision and interpretation of data and advice.
- Supporting other programs of work within the Section and Branch, including the

Aged Care Workforce Census, preparing briefs and data requests.***

**Key Capabilities**
- Quantitative data analysis skills and/or experience using data visualisation tools.
- Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to investigate

and interpret a range of health and aged care data sources.
- Sound organisational skills, including the demonstrated ability to manage workflows,

meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities.
- Very good liaison, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to cultivate

productive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders,

and the ability to work within a small team.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality written

work in a range of formats for a variety of audiences.
