**Fixed Term - Part-Time**
- Fixed term (12 months)/Part-Time (32 hours per week).
- Remuneration: Will be based on your qualifications and/or years of experience. Ranging from $70.20 - $103.65 per hour, plus superannuation, leave loading and allowances

**THE ROLE**:
The Research Fellow will develop clinical research projects, prepare publications, and participate in local/regional Cancer research committees.

Under the supervision of a clinical mentor, the Research Fellow or the Registrar will participate in on-call rosters, and other haematology services as required by the Director of Haematology.

The role is intended for a Haematologist in their first Post-Fellowship year, seeking further research experience and a transitional role to unsupervised consultant practice.

**DUTIES**:

- Supervision of Junior Medical and Nursing staff.
- Involvement in Haematology Laboratory and Clinical Management Team.
- Maintenance of clear, precise and accurate medical records including coding for DRGs.
- Participate in the development of innovative programs in both the delivery of care and clinical training.
- Attendance at Outreach Clinics in Greater Newcastle and in country centres as designated by the hospital (such as Tamworth or Taree).

**ABOUT YOU**:

- A primary medical degree registrable with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Eligibility for Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the Enterprise Agreement of the Health Insurance Act 1973.
- Eligibility for Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the Enterprise Agreement or the Health Insurance Act 1973.
- Clinical inpatient, outpatient and laboratory experience in Haematology.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work proficiently unsupervised and as a member of a multidisciplinary team during periods of high demand and activity in an organised manner.
