Melbourne City Centre, Australia IPA Personnel Services Full time

IPA are currently recruiting for a Category Buyer/Sourcing Specialist (Supply Chain) working for an organisation that is a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry. The role is a temporary contract to start in August for 12 months working Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. The role is based in Broadmeadows and the hourly rate for the role will be between $75 - 85 per hour + superannuation, dependant on experience.

Working as part of this team you will have sound judgment and reasoning skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, make recommendations, and draw valid conclusions. Reporting into the Global Category Lead and you will be responsible for the sourcing/supplier process, contract negotiation and managing supplier/stakeholder relationships.

Some of your duties will include:

- Manage the supplier selection process
- Coordinate and execute sourcing related activities
- Project reporting on a regular basis for senior management
- Monitor market conditions, supply/demand challenges and opportunities
- Track assigned categories to ensure targets are being met
- Support purchasing terms compliance, provide necessary contract guidelines
- Issue, review, and evaluate tenders, draft and approve contractual agreements,
- Assist in driving negotiation and management using ERP or Ariba
- Update and publish contract content in the Contract Management Systems
- Manage supplier relationships, communicate project specs to potential vendors
- Work with the manufacturing/engineering teams to identify and develop external capability to support strategic sourcing opportunities

To be successful in this role you must have worked in a similar position, have previous experience in equipment and engineering, a Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, supply management, or related field, an understanding of capital projects, advanced negotiation skills, highly experienced in Ariba and strong capital sourcing knowledge. A Purchasing Management Certification (ISM) is preferred but not essential and the ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously is a must You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to handle complex situations and work well under pressure. You must be proficient in all Microsoft Office packages including Excel.
