**ABOUT THE ROLE**

TAFE NSW is seeking a temporary full time Technical Assistant (Automotive) to work in the Automotive teaching section on a 12-month contract. This position is based in the Sydney Region at the Northern Beaches campus however, you may be required to work at other campus locations within the Sydney region.

The role is responsible for providing support in the preparation and development of teaching resources materials and equipment to support educational delivery. In the role, you will ensure the ongoing care, maintenance and storage of tools and equipment, teaching resources and facilities within the teaching section.

**ABOUT YOU**

You will need to demonstrate your commitment to customer service and strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers, service providers, students, and the teaching section. You will need to have experience in store procedures and stock controls and demonstrated skills in your self-management abilities to ensure all works are completely effectively and to the strict standards complying with safe work practices.

To deliver results in the role, you must have demonstrated skills and current experience in the automotive industry.

To be successful in this role you must:

- Hold the minimum vocational qualification in Certificate III Automotive Mechanical, or equivalent.
- Have three (3) to five (5) years proven experience working within the automotive environment, or related work areas, and have knowledge of automotive tools and equipment.
- Have proven experience in store procedures and stock control.
- Hold a Class C Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrate your understanding of safe manual handling skills.
- Demonstrate how you meet the focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.

It is highly desirable that you have a First Aid Certificate and Forklift Licence, however not essential.

Also considered highly desirable is the Certificate III in Automotive Electrical, however not an essential requirement.
