**THE ROLE**
An exciting new opportunity exists at a leading commercial furniture manufacturing and supply company for a Despatch Team Leader. This is a newly created role within the company due to the growth of the business. Zenith are a well-established manufacturer of commercial furniture solutions with major contracts in the corporate and government sectors throughout Australia.
Reporting to the Operations Manager at our Sandringham-Melbourne manufacturing facility, the Despatch Team Leader will oversee a small team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Vital to the role is ensuring the accurate despatch of highly customised orders within tight timeframes and deadlines.
You will liaise with external truck drivers, site controllers and state sales managers as well as planning and delivery stakeholders, so you will need excellent planning, time management and organisational skills.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES**
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the key accountability of the Despatch Team Leader is to ensure coordinated, highly accurate dispatch of large volume customised orders to meet deadlines.
To fulfill this key accountability, some of your duties will include:
- Dealing with internal customer organised transport, distribution, and logistics.
- Driving the day-to-day operational despatch readiness of jobs/customer orders.
- Managing the deliveries and communications with various people within the Australian business to ensure a safe, cost-effective, fast, and reliable delivery service of manufactured products to our customers.
- Overseeing and ensuring that all deliveries & loads are ready for despatch including correct packaging, correct labelling, and the correct paperwork completed.
- Improving processes to reduce errors and conducting ongoing training and development of your team to drive performance outcomes.
**SKILLS REQUIRED**
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Time Management and organisational excellence.
- Strong commercial decision-making abilities and Leadership skills.
- Sound understanding of transport logistics, freight and delivery services.
- Experience in a similar despatch role within the Building products, Manufacturing or Engineering is essential.
