Job Description

Role Overview

The Signals Officer plays a critical role in providing communications, information systems, and electronic warfare support to the Australian Defence Force. This includes planning, deploying, and maintaining robust and secure networks to enable command and control of deployed forces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commanders with situational awareness and electronic effects to support warfighting operations
  • Plan, deploy, and maintain local and wide area networks to ensure information services are available 24/7
  • Use electro-magnetic spectrum, communications systems, and information technology to enable dynamic command and control
  • Disrupt enemy electronic transmissions and provide secure communication links

Requirements

Officers with degrees in Communications, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems are required for this role. They will undertake regimental postings and key appointments requiring specialist technical knowledge.
