Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Financial Counsellor to join our team at Tradewind Recruitment Australia. As a Financial Counsellor, you will provide expert financial guidance and support to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive financial counselling services, including assessments, casework, and systemic advocacy.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with creditors and financial institutions to resolve debts and financial issues.
  • Offer education and resources on financial literacy and related matters to clients and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, records, and data.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, including credit, bankruptcy, and hardship schemes, ensuring best practices in service delivery.
  • Participate in continuous professional development to maintain accreditation and deliver high-quality services.
Requirements
  • Diploma of Financial Counselling and eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body.
  • Previous experience in a financial counselling or case management role, with a focus on client support.
  • Strong knowledge of credit laws, bankruptcy processes, and financial hardship solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations.
  • Proven ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a client-centred environment.
  • Experience working with individuals affected by family violence or gambling harm is highly desirable.
